Italian press manufacturer Lombardi Converting Machinery has presented its latest Invicta i2 flexo running at 300 meters per minute, breaking its own speed record.
Lombardi launched, Invicta i2, a mid-web press for flexible packaging at Labelexpo Europe 2019. It is gearless, shaftless and direct drive on the three main elements of the printing unit such as sleeve shaft, anilox shaft and drum shaft. Thanks to this and to a frame featuring 50 mm shoulders, this machine delivers quality with three web widths: 750 mm, 850 mm, 1100 mm.
According to the manufactuer, the model 1100 can print one square meter of web, making Invicta i2 the biggest printing press in terms of processable substrate in its category.
With ten motors for each printing unit, this machine takes automation to new levels offering improved efficiency and precision.
Equipped with a full electronic pre-register system, register system and print pressure system, the press saves each printing parameter on a dedicated recipe page, improving quality and shortening setup downtime.

‘Today we show you the Invicta i2, our latest hi-tech solution for flexible packaging. We are now ready to present this machine in 880mm width, seven flexo colors, printing on 12-micron thickness PE material, running at 300 meters per minute,’ said Nicola Lombardi, marketing manager at Lombardi Converting Machinery. ‘The machine achieved the speed effortlessly with the perfect register accuracy.
